Unit 11 ScriptWriting

 PRACTICE SCRIPT

Storyline- The story is trying to say about how people can fake anything with just a click of a button it also says don't believe everything you see online some can just use it to show off and get more like on the internet by just uploading one photo.

What is script writing?

Having a script is another way of commenting to those who may be filming the script is given to you as a guide to tell you when and what to say next or what type of moving action.

Introduction:

I am uploading my practice script called selfie I'm also including the short film that comes along with the script that takes about a 1:00 long.

What I will be included in the benefits of having a script in working studio  I have also explained what the actions and the locations called to be in a working progress  I have explained this like these with others that may be included in scripts or filming.

Final I going to talking about the Advantages and the Disadvantages of having to work with a script.

Benefits of script working

WHY I have decided to not use anyone’s film in the class but as well as use one that is on YouTube called selfie the film does not have any spoken language but does have a lot of camera angles which can be changed frequently between two of the charters.

The characters don't have any names so I have just called them young man and elder man.

You also may find the video link and the strict link where you can read/watch further.

Camera shots and what they mean

-Actions

Wound need to be used at the right moment when in the ether shooting a short film or extend film it can't be in a part of a film when it does not it's not needed.

-Locations

Depending on what the storyline is it could be falling in love or Being the last person on earth it doesn't really matter as long as it fits with what going on with the script dialog.

Camera shots

Can come in May s such as having the different type of angels such as Pans which is a movement which can scan a scene horizontally.

Tilts A movement which scans a scene vertically otherwise a similar to a pan.

Dolly shots sometimes called trucking or tracking shots.

Other camera shots

Hand-held, crane shots, zoom lenses and finally aerial shots.

Visual effects:

Processes by which imagery is created manipulated

Outside the context of a lie action shot

Advantage and Disadvantage

Advantages: Easy Ideas when to plan to a film ideas when to plan out a film with other co-workers also scriptwriting can give writers more control over the look and behavior.

Disadvantage: Not everybody is going to understand what has said or been written or what the whole storyline is trying to expand actors can understand which sense is which also how and what angle lens the could be used during the film.

Storyboard/Script

What I have done Is created a storyboard for a script that from another group has created from a group who film their short film.

The storyboard that I have created should explain what should be going on in the film I have also created another storyboard that continues on with the rest but I didn't upload this as I think it would be too much

I have recreated the first scene in as storyboard

The short 90 sec, I have created the storyboard from a website called storyboardthat.com

Unit 11 Production scheduled

Production schedule- from the end of October, we have started our production schedule. Our first task was to research our topic on racism and bullying we spent 3 hrs looking for what we hope to look for the task we needed resources such as pen paper and google.

We then continued for the next few days. Till we have moved to our task which was to develop our ideas on a storyboard we spend  3 hrs on developing our ideas and then the next two days with the storyboard.

Unit 1 P1 Analysis of Two Scripts

Introduction: In my unit 11 I have been given a task to create a short 5 min film but I will be talking about a script working such as using two previous scripts. From a movie my first script choice is called interview with a Vampire and my second choice is called Rick and Morty.

For what I have found is I am going to discuss the style, content and the garage continuous ect in both of my script that I have pick out. In my unit P2, I am creating a spider diagram with ideas that we have come up with for our film idea. Unit P3 is just me showing some drafts of scripts that I have chosen to do   that we also have to precision power point with what we came to pitch.

Digital  script of  Rick and Morty

Two Tv Show Script

I have chosen to do a TV show script called Rick and Morty from a website called simplyscripts and what I will be doing is analysing the TV by using the style, content etc.

A)Style: the style is a basic black and white script within black bold font to inform us with the scene change, also the writers have created the script writing to be in the center of the page.

B)Content: Not much color only the basic black text and white plain background. The colour would be the blue text at the beginning of the script on the front and the bold black fonts are used when scenes are changed and for the camera angles. For example 'EXT.Morty 's Home - establishing-Day'.

C)Narrative Structure Rick creates a device to make the family dog Snuffles smarter, but it goes poorly. Rick and Morty invade the dreams of Morty's math teacher.

Please click this link to find out where the original text came from.

http://rickandmorty.wikia.com/wiki/Lawnmower_Dog

D)Genre: My thought of the genre on the TV show would be animated sitcom, science fiction and black comedy as the show has similarities to science fiction genres such as Back to the Future, with also comedy and funny punchlines.

E)Target Audience: The target audience  I would think would be older audience such as 18+ as I think that audience would be more suitable to understand more of the adult humor. This is more than the young audience as the show does contain adult language. As you can see  the target audience is from YouGov it is showing  that mostly males who are ages 18-24 who would watch the Tv show Ricky and Morty.

Main Movie Script

Interview with the vampire

ANALYSIS SCRIPTS

Pass: learners investigate scripted elements products

A) Style

The style of the script is straightforward the writing of the script can be seen as a simple and easy way to read and the script can give out easy instructions to follow.

B) Content

There isn't much color in the script itself but in the film, it shows more of the dark side with just black clothes with a white t-shirt.

C)Narrative Structure

What a Structure is: it looks at two things- the context of the story and the form used to tell the story. These are two common ways to describe parts of the narrative structure, for example, it might be described in chronological order or nonlinear.

How  my script is set out:

the narrative for the script is- both characters talk about a vampire who is talking to a regular human interviewer about his life as a Vampire.

As both people are talking we are able to see a flashback to another part of the story.

                For example of the script:

Malloy: (baffled) 'you're not lying to me, are you'?

Louise: 'The year was 1791--that's the year when it happens. I was twenty-four-- younger then you are now'.

Molloy: 'Yes'

Louis: But times were different then I was a man at that age the master of a large plantation just south of New Orleans...

Dissolve to:

EXT: Louisiana-(Day 1791)

As he speaks he approaches a small parish church and graveyard he dismounts, approaches triangular Greek style above ground tomb the stone is like a doorway.

This part of the script explains how the script changes for an interview between  Molloy and Louis to then back to the 1700's which shows us a look at a tombstone of the main character.

D)Genre: The genre of the script would be horror fiction and gothic fiction as the film is based on  Vampires.

E)Target audience around the ages 18+ where viewers are able to understand the story much better than the younger viewers would. Also, the story would show a lot of action that may be unsure of the viewers under age. As you can see YouGov Profile shows us the audience who would watch this back in 1995, they would be around 18 when watching this.

Unit 11 P2 Introduction to project

Pass: Generate ideas for scripted element

Social Equality

The topic I have to pick is called social equality I have decided to choose this because I can branch out more ideas such as using

Sexism, Racism, Gender equality with this topics I can bring more Ideas out such as using the idea.

Gender Equality- Documentary style by having a female enroll as a job that can be done by a  man.

While we have a male enroll in a Job do by women.

As we follow the lives of two completely different people we saw how It would look like if a job role would be swap by the opposite gender we would the documentary job swap.

Spider diagram- Pass- to be able generate idea for script elements

Social Equality

Job Swap- We hope to use this with our gender equality idea where two people swap a job for a day or week and to see how the opposite gender get by with working with the job of a male role or a job of a female.

A bit of interview: When we decide what to do me and my group would fill up the 5 mins by having Interview with ethier about people's thoughts on racism, sexism and gender equality.

Racism: Interview on how every day from other races tell us how it feels when they are targeted by other how don't like types of race

Sexism: Interview asking women and men to be told you can't do this because you're a man or because or you're women.

Gender Equality: what it would be like if we have males doing female jobs such a being a housewife, midwifery, male nursing.

or having female doing the men's work life style such as engineering, builder and Doctor.

This are what we hope to look for when and if we decide to choose a film based idea on this topic.

Documentary: Following a person from a certain from a race and film what their everydauy life.

Unit 11 P4 Script Element

Racism and Social Equality PowerPoint

PASS learners present their scripted element for feedback

Powerpoint Presentation

This Is our power point that me and my partner,

We also need to look out for a question that may not be offensive nor to be lying to the Interview where the video would be played as It can give off as a bad Inspiration to those we want to film for next.

What went well?

Receiving good feedback and honest opinion explain to us to fill In our script with our question to make the script seem longer and help our script become a 5 full minute scrip.

What would you do for next time?

Looking at what I have and to make sure that If have Item such as a longer script layout before I had It In also.

Do you agree with the feedback?

I 100% agree with the feedback that I have been given me and my partner have changed to make such as extending the script to have a longer script/film.

Presentation power point

Final Script

Unit 11 P5 Feedback Gained

Pass learners review feedback gained from the client.

Our first feedback back given was we have been told to add more in our script such as add interview questions, also having to anticipate the answers to fit in with the drama story with our script.

Merit learners make purposeful and relevant changes to their script on the client's feedback.

New feedback- Our new feedback is what we could of including Gvs, follow up questions, Camera angles, and emotions/tone.

Each feedback we received what we could have of include:

GVs: What footage will play when an interview is on? Will there be any extra shots of Bristol or any other surroundings to help with the sense?

Follow up questions- We would need to continue asking questions we need to think and out ourselves in journalists and think how they would think to give questions.

Camera angles- we were lacking camera angles in our script. We need to think about we interviewed and other sensors such as close up interviews.

Emotions/tone- for our script we would need a tone of voice such as a narrator for our voice without the tone it can be boring and can lead up to not understanding the film.
