Unit 16 P1 Analysis Similar products

Introduction: In my unit 16 I have chosen to do my film task on graffiti but first we have been analyzing two different short films the frits one is called on memory and the second short film is called the runners film both have the same analyze such as purpose, form and style content, meaning and genre etc.

my P2 is on audio and visual talking about writing up about the copyright act and criminal and crime the base stuff to watch out when looking for when making a film.

As you would continue ill see my production schedule screenshots of editing risk assessments and budgets.

On memory analyze

On memory Film

 Purpose

The purpose of this film is to highlight how Alzheimer affects people memory. Alzheimer is a brain disease that causes memory lost and usually occur in the middle age people

( 49-70  years). The disease will make People remember the early part of their life but some time to remember what happen early that morning or the day before. Alzheimer will get worse as you get older.

B)Form and style

Style

The style is based on the storyline it’s not based on any easement  or happiness it’s to help set a tone with the storyline and just to help see those who don’t have anything with memory and just to see what those who have it just to sit down and realise what they would put every day. How the producer approached the project was slowly they didn’t come fast with them I would also think that the product would ask the children as ask them they would simply forget.

 Form

The format of this short film is audio/visual found on Youtube and Vimeo, this short film is 3.53 minutes  long. Other platform this can be found on is social media as a 30 sec to a 1 min long depending on how the file is exported. It can be also found on NHS were they would advertise to the public.

C) Contact

The content to me was to they have been putting down basic facts about Alzheimer’s disease such as saying that their people who have it ages 49-75 what they have also been doing is given different camera shots such as using face to face and as well as a few side shots but as well as getting a part of their full face. The tone is shown by the lighting given us a sit to sit down feeling the of the light when it's tone down right.

D) Meaning

The meaning is to give us an example of what it may feel like so what the ideas were to have those who do tell us what it feels like and by this is to tell us what they can and can’t remember and what they would not like to forget.

E) Genre- Documentary film based.

F) Target Audience

My choice of the target audience would start off being the age of 49+ as I think it would be the time where they would most forget things and for this video to help and hopefully even to recognize some of the symptoms.

G) Frequency

I think it’s one of the films as it was just to give a brief topic on that something that was never talk about but as its on YouTube, anyone can watch it anytime.

H) Production Process

Production time- I think the they would of spend about 2-3 mouths as they would have to gather people how have Alzheimer’s then to get when and what time and day they would be happen to film. Task- for them is easy and they would just answers the question but its default when having Alzheimer’s so they would try their best to remember just to give us an answer. Location I think the locution is based in their home just to make it easier for them to remember the location when the filming starts.

What roles would have been included?

The roles would have include people like:

-Director

-Screenwriter

-Editor

-Sound producer

-Lighting director

I think that these roles would fit well with Alzheimer film as it shows what I have been talking about from the  film especial with the light as I have notice the tone of lighting is in a subtle tone that fits with the tone of the film as it's not a type of film were you would need to change about the lighting every few seconds.

How often can this film be watched? Daily/weekly/Monthly.

I have pick this video to be shown daily just because this would be shown on youtube that different user would viewing everyday and if more people like watch films like that then may there would be something similar of the film that would be done again.

The Runners film

The runner's film

Purpose-

The purpose of this film is to find out the reason why people get up a run no matter what the weather condition is. Random questions personal questions- which the runner’s time intrigue. One lady was running for the marathon another runner expresses how we don't run, therefore we don’t use up our celled heart enough. I think the short films highlights how some people makes the effort to run for whatever reason one runner ran because she missed the gym which shows low dedicated she has to running daily despite whatever.

Format and style

Format-The format of this film was short and was film during the early during the early morning when people would find it best to run. We can see also see a change in the weather wet mornings or something you can see snow melting away thus film seems to be aim at the middle age people who these types of age group try to keep healthy. The style was more like an interview approach which the film maker asking some personal questions about live and relationships, which the runners found intrusive, especially since he was a stranger, who came I front of them with a camera.

Style- After watching the film I have noticed that the style can be based towards a minimal approach as within 42 seconds the season changes from winter to summer and then we also see as well see different interviewers change, this is because  viewers may be watching and they don't want to see the same person for too long.

Content

The camera is in front of the lady’s face, the camera moves on to another interviewer as the first lady changed her mind about being interviewed. The camera then moves towards another female for a little bit and then brings itself to a male jogger, just for a quick conversation then moves to the title page after 1:03 minutes long which says ‘RUNNERS’.

The rest of the short film includes different camera angles throughout such as coming through the left or right side view point, this can be seen at 1:21 minutes into the film where the camera is pointing on the left side of the male interviewers face. Then the camera shifts towards the interviewer face while continuing to run.

Meaning

The editors keep this in as they wanted to show a bit of realism as most people would think that all runners are serious and would not take anything for a joke but as we see in the first clips the female interviewer was laughing and joking around a bit. Plus it would not be much of a believable l is the editors have started with a tents tone.

Genre:

Documentary/Sport

Target Audience

As the short film is based on running/jogging the film would choose to go in the morning before working as it would be the only free time they have before their day gets busy with other works related stuff because the audience would run in the morning it’s a better way to clear their mind on things that may be going on at home. This would be mostly target at ages 25-39 who would be males as they would  target the most who would chosen to run in the morning.

Frequency

Frequency would be when the seasons have changed from winter to summer thus can be seen through the rest of the 11 min film and also we see the same faces quite a few times during the filming as the production film  as frequently keep in contact with those who they have interviewed the same time back in the winter. This would be that the production would require filming team to visit the same spot everyday or every few weeks.

Production process

I would think the production process has taken the crew over year when the weather has change differently what the team has done was take snips of the course and palace them thought out the film so we don’t see just one season thought the film we see different weather changes as viewers would get bored of just seeing the same weather settings.

How often can this film be watched? Daily/weekly/Monthly.

I think the film would be watch daily just because it’s on YouTube were different users come to watch and as well easy to access for everyone to watch and to comment on what they may think about the short film.

What roles would have been included?

Roles would have include as:

-Director

-Screenwriter

-Editor

-Sound producer

-Location scot etc

I have pick these roles as I believe they would be the most import job roles for the runner’s film because I think it would not be a one man job role more people has to be involved with the project so if they were to be more than one job roles then I think what I have chosen would fit well with the film project.

Unit 16 P2 Initial Ideas

Idea 1: Graffiti

-Bristol a perfect scene for graffiti

-plenty of options around Bristol

-connections with UpFest

Graffiti as I see this all the time around Bristol. I chose this because I believe there are not as many people who would choose this topic

Idea 2: Landmarks

Limited with landmarks/location

My second Idea is landmarked where I would go around Bristol to film the most iconic landmarks there is in Bristol. I have chosen to do this because it was accessible and within my walking range. I would first start off with the Fishpond's fish statue as that is my first idea in and also, I am able to walk as it is close for me. My other idea was to film the SS.great Britain boat and filming the history of the boat  although this is not walking distance.

Idea 3: Role Models

Role models would be Michelle Obama as she is the first lady of American and married to Obama the present I have chosen her because she inspires the women to become more of themselves and to achieve their goals in life. My trouble would be that she lives in an America and me filming would be impossible to do so and since she is a powerful and busy person I would have no way of interviewing her in the white house.

Vandalism Vs Graffiti

Graffiti is more of a passion and also a lot of time also a lot different from as it's more of a 3D design depending on where the Graffiti is place. I also think that Graffiti as more bright colours and a lot of time to focus on. Think that Graffiti has more time planning such as the lotion weather and the space is big or small but,

I also think the timing has to be right because nobody really wants to be caught so I think the timing has to be spot-on, The last thing is that has to be eyes caught and it has to be able to be eye-catching it has to be able to make the viewers stop and look.

Vandalism has a more of a quick simple one letter word and is more of a have to do with less of a mess and also doesn't contain space other than Graffiti would take more space and a lot of time other than vandalism. I think that vandalism as a disadvantage over graffiti but although it's the same they are way different I think because,

I think vandalism mostly apparent on old building or buildings that are going to become on sale or just before I also think that vandalism is meaningless the reason why I think so is because it just a bunch of words on a solid suffice.

Why people do Graffiti?

I think is because many reasons one, when people get bored, they don't think of anything good to do this means they probably getting others to be in groups to start hitting some walls but actually, someone does Graffiti because of the adrenaline rush when running away from the police.

What is Graffiti?

Graffiti is a writing or drawings scribbled, scratched or sprayed illicitly on a wall or other surface in a public place. google

What is the difference between Graffiti and Vandalism?

Unlike graffiti vandalism, is legal artwork where permissions to mark the surface has been granted by the owner of the probity but urban art is often known under names such as street art or mural art.

What is vandalism?

Vandalism is "action involving deliberate destruction of or damage to public or private property." The term includes property damage, such as graffiti and defacement directed towards any property without permission of the owner . google

Unit 16 P3 Idea Proposals

Landmarks Treatment

Graffiti Treatment

Outline form to see how so many people would become famous over street art and how I do this is to get as many people to see why graffiti should be important.

Content: color that can be used would be bright colors as its frequently used with in in the graffiti world. And also because of how eye catching it can it be when walking past or even when driving past.

Style: I believe that graffiti can become graceful as it can becoming into a big colorfully  depending  on the space and the size.

Target Audience:

I think the audience would be age 16+ and I think the gender would be boys as I think mostly to do with trouble making also think is boys who don't go to school and would turn their life to crime and graffiti drawing.

My second age would be men over the age of 20+ as I think those who still aren't In school or choose to not go back.

I also think that women are able to but I don't think there are much of women doing graffiti than men are doing as I think is most common for men to do graffiti than a woman, But I think there are women who may do graffiti but not a lot   but I would think there is a small change of ladies would be graffiti artist

Introduction: Sharing my story about the Bristol landmarks what I will be doing is asking the question from the Local on what they think Should the location change or keep as it is. This is going to benefit me with my filming and camera work. What I hope from this video is good quality and hopefully shows a meaning behind towards the viewers when the seen it.

The medium used

For this, I will be doing a double page of my documentary. Only using main images or the images that have better angles than the others. I will be doing this because it gives out a higher quietly than the other images.

-Film overview

Interviews with the local and getting their point on the landmarks when I do this I hopefully fit in the video. (3mins long)

-Print view

My print view is a double page speed including

small text boxes around the page

Introduction: Sharing my story about the Bristol graffiti in St paul's This is going to benefit me with my filming and photo works. My film time is going to be 3 mins long as I don't want to board the views with a film that's going to be over my time plan. I have chosen to do this because this is what I have seen much around Bristol.

Purpose

My reason on to do this is just getting different reaction and option on whether they like it or not. Is because of its quick simple and time on with the people I am talking too.

The medium used

For the project are is using a double page spread to show more than one of my pictures in my documentary, Also including my other images from the landmarks and also the small interviews.

-Film overview

Interviews with the local and getting their point on the graffiti that has done over the years. (3mins long)

-Print view

Have the local good and bad opinion on the graffiti I will be including this onto the pages. My idea was to include a larger text box to explain everything for why I have chosen to cover Graffiti. This would come in the size of two A4 pages together in a double-page spread.

I have created an audience profile to show what people would most likely watch films about graffiti

B) Sample pre-production for both film ideas

Interview scene 1,2,3

A script for Landmarks and Graffiti

Script for Graffiti

Do you feel as if the graffiti should be covered up?

-would you let your child follow in the feet of graffiti?

-Do you think that graffiti is important?

-Do you find any graffiti inspirational?

-What's your thought and feelings on graffiti?

My script is what I would be using for people to interview I may use what I have written down or slip thought and have other question that comes to mind.

Script for Landmarks

-What is your favorite landmark in Bristol? And why?

- Do find any landmarks interesting?

- How did you find the history of the s.s great Britain

-How much do you know about landmarks so far?

-Do find any landmarks interesting? If so which one?

Landmark- The questions I Have chosen to do whether I decide to choose this topic as my final film topic but incise I have choice to do my topic on landmarks.

Unit 16 P4 Presentation

With this attachment I have my presentation where I have received my feedback.

Proposal Talk:

In my proposal, I'm here to talk about the subjects I have to choose this landmarks and Graffiti.

In my presentation, I have talked about and give my target audience, kit list, and crew list.

I had taken out my role model idea as I believe so many people were already doing that I have designed not to do that and do something that nobody else is as such as graffiti and landmarks.

Unit 16 P5 Pre-Production

In my presentation  I have given 3 ideas on what I should be doing for my final project my ideas were based on graffiti, landmarks and teachers. Each feedback told me what I should be doing such as for my first idea is on graffiti my feedback that was given to me was:

-Bristol is perfect scene for graffiti I will be using this feedback in my video and hope to capture what I can.

My second Idea was on Landmarks as my feedback was little as I never taken many photos of landmarks as my comment suggest ‘limits with landmarks’.

My final Idea was on teachers with the comment including ‘nice, personal idea’   I have never chosen this idea was because there was many other ideas based on teachers.

I have chosen to do my graffiti interviews as I got the most positive feedback from it and I get to expand on that more.

Legal and ethical issues

What my legal & ethical issues would be is to address it to be friendly and to be able for viewers to understand as well and why I have chosen this topic. My ethics would be to have my group of people thought they are not going to be in my film they are helping with the basic things.

We also need to think about the sex and race or others as I don't want to offend anyone when anything has been released.

Copyright act The copyright act was formed back in 1988. This to prevent from anyone using other people music, CD’s or videos with having the act it would make everyone limited on what they can and can’t copy of the internet and resealed them as their own.

Offensive Language: How I would avoid strong language and any other language such as sexist language the reason why I Have chosen sexist language was because   I wanted to show that there was more than just explain what strong language was and I wanted to also include that there were more facts when explaining two different  Language..

Intellectual property rights

The property rights component is an assessment of the ability of individuals to accumulate private property –google. In which for men if I would like to use a piece of land in my film I would have to contact the council to give me a permission when filming either GVs or Interviews.

Model Release Form

A model release, known in similar contexts as a liability waiver, is a legal release typically signed by the subject of a photograph granting permission to publish the photograph in one form or another.- google

Copyright, Design & patents Act (1988)

-Making copies of produced work for the purpose of selling or hiring to others and also is the current UK copyright law. It gives the creators of literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works the right to control  in the ways in which their material may can be used later in the future.

Criminal offences

the crime or offence or criminal offence not harmful but an act that can individual but a community society or in "a public wrong".Such acts are forbidden and punishable by law.

Production Schedule

Resources and equipment

Dell tower, Dell computer, Keyboard, mouse and also adobe effects to help put all the clips together.

Equipment-DSLR camera to be taken photos of either photo or also interview as well and get views a thoughts graffiti. I would be also using a clip-on mic for when I'm interviewing my person because the weather can be windy and I would not be able to pick up what he/she might be saying so when I have the clip on mic I can easily pick up who is speaking.

DSLR Camera, batteries x2 when my first battery is done I'm able to pull out my spare, Tripod to help me forced better on photo taking.

My main Resources would be me having the camera and the 2 different lenses and as well as having the tripod and clip-on mic for interviews that I may need in my film I have chosen these because they are my main source whenever  I would go out to film so the list would never change.

Equipment that I would need to have are apple computer for edit what I would use for editing is premiere pro and as well I would also need is

Camera batteries (x2) full charge

Camera tripod to give me better steady forces

Clip-on mic for my interviews

And they carry the camera I would also have a camera bag to carry as well.

Budget

Kit list:

Tripod cost: 30.00

Camera cost: 1,000

iMac computer: 1,000

Keypad:  £89.49

Mouse: £79.99

Adobe Premiere cost of monthly plan £19.97 per month

I think this is how much each of what I am using is going to cost.

My final total cost would My kit list will be

£2,219.45

Product launch dates

My launch date would be in the summer on the 29th of July 2017 as there would be no school and more people would be free especially on the weekends as there would be no parents working and would be taking their kids out do activities. One of the many reasons why they can be going to the Upfest in Bristol is because there is not a lot of graffiti around the UK and this festival would allow more graffiti, as well as this the graffiti can be linked up with Banksy one of the famous street artists in Bristol. Banksy could also be somewhere placing his art around Bristol especially when Upfest is around Banksy would be seen somewhere around his art.
